I attended Dr. Marghoob's conference and this was a required textbook. We didn't use it, but I did use it in the clinic. Good pictures.

I was disappointed in this book. Many of the sections are well written but the images are generally far too small to show the dermatoscopic features properly. Good large images were a real selling point for the first edition of this book. Nonetheless the contributing authors are all the experts in this field and hence the factual content is good. It would have been useful to have had larger versions of the images available with an online access option as many other texts offer nowadays.

I did not get my invoice and I am upset

The book is beautfully done, and the images are well labeled for a beginner and advanced student. Great. Simply great.

The best Dermoscopy book. Very comprehensive and informative for dermatologist.

This is for the kindle edition: a difficult review to make because I feel like the book itself is very good but the photos are not very good at all; I'm not sure if the quality of the photos is better with the hardcover version; I returned the kindle version right away without reading it because the photo quality was so poor; I'm going to reorder the hardcover version and hopefully the photos will be better. It seems like a quick read; not sure why the book is so expensive but it does seem to be thorough. Looking forward to the hardcover version and will keep you updated about it.UPDATE: the photo quality in the hardcover version is much, much better than the kindle version but still overall quite poor. For example, you really have to use your IMAGINATION to see small caliber vessels in these photos. Some photos are just horrible quality. But the information/textual content of the book is very good. It is a pretty quick read (took me 3 months of reading a few pages everyday) and I feel it was only lacking in regards to the photographs. Hopefully the next edition will have better quality photos on glossy paper.

The BCCTPC exams are made to validate a skill set and not necessarily there to teach it, so the study guides of each exam should be there to help guide an already experienced paramedic. This book explains the different skills needed to grasp what is needed to pass the exam. While there are a few products that are not necessarily required for practice as a tactical paramedic in the book, I would rather have them in the book to help as a guide me instead of handing me two large bore 16 gauge needles and IV bags. The book concentrates on practical issues and develops an understanding of the products through applications and detailed analysis of the risks and alternative means of trading. Credit Derivatives: Risk Management, Trading and Investing provides:

About the Author
GEOFF CHAPLIN studied mathematics at Cambridge (MA 1972) and Oxford (MSc 1973, DPhil 1975) and qualified as an actuary (FFA 1978) while working in a life insurance company. He moved to the City in 1980 and has worked for major banks (including HSBC, Nomura International, and ABN AMRO) as well as consulting to hedge funds, corporate treasurers, and institutional investment funds. He has been involved in the credit derivatives market since 1996 and has both traded portfolio products and developed risk management systems for these products. In addition to consulting and training for the major financial institutions, Geoff has maintained strong academic interests and was a visiting (emeritus) professor at the University of Waterloo (Canada) from 1987 until 1999. He has also published many articles (in Risk, the Journal of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, and others) and speaks regularly at conferences on credit derivatives.
